The Henry Hicks Foundation was established by Henry's family in February 2015, following his death on Friday 19th December 2014 at the age of just eighteen.
Henry's family felt it was important for Henry to have a legacy; passing away at such a young age meant he wasn't able to experience many of life's opportunities and that by setting up the Henry Hicks Foundation, wonderful, positive things can be achieved in his name and honour.
Linda Robson, actress and presenter, is the Trustee of the Henry Hicks Foundation;
"I have been a friend of the Hicks family for over twenty years now and our children have grown up together. Witnessing the grief and devastation that the loss of their beautiful Henry has had not only on them but our whole community has been truly heartbreaking. Henry was a loving son, grandson, godson, nephew, brother, cousin and great friend to so many. He was loved by all who knew him and will live on in our hearts and memories forever. I am so proud to have been asked to be the Trustee for the Henry Hicks Foundation, and it will be my honour and privilege to work alongside Henry’s brave family as they raise money to help grieving families come to terms with the loss of their loved ones. I know in my heart that Henry would be as proud of his family as we all are".
The Henry Hicks Foundation provides relief to bereaved families who have lost a child (aged twenty-five years and under), by helping with unexpected expenses such as the cost of a funeral and/or memorial, practical support in the form of counselling for family members and loss of earnings support.
